FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
If something here reads like it is dodging the question, tell us and we will rewrite it.
Getting started
Do I need trading experience?
No, but you do need to understand that you can lose money. The robots handle execution; they do not remove market risk. We ask about your experience at sign-up so we can steer beginners toward the lower-drawdown strategies and a demo period long enough to be meaningful.
How long does setup take?
About one business day from the moment you connect an account. Most of that is provisioning a VPS, installing the robot, configuring risk parameters to your allocation and running a verification trade. You can watch each stage complete in your dashboard.
Which brokers do you support?
Any broker offering MetaTrader 4 or 5. Execution quality varies a lot between brokers, and for the scalping strategy it matters enormously, so we publish a shortlist we have measured ourselves. You are free to use another — we will tell you honestly if we think the spread will erode the edge.
What if I forget my password?
Use the "Forgot?" link on the sign-in page. We email you a one-time link, valid for an hour, that lets you set a new one — and saving it signs you out of every other device. Your broker account is completely separate: we never hold that password, so we cannot reset it and neither can anyone who gets into your Aurum account.
Can I really run it indefinitely for free?
Yes — one robot, on demo or live, for as long as you like, hosted on our server. We would rather you spent six months watching than funded an account you were not ready for.
Risk and safety
Can I lose money?
Yes. Leveraged trading can result in the loss of your entire invested capital. Every robot here has had losing months and will have more. The published maximum drawdown is the worst decline observed so far — treat it as a floor, not a ceiling, and size your account so that a drawdown twice that deep would not change your life.
Do you use martingale, grid or averaging down?
No, and this is not a soft commitment. Those techniques produce beautiful equity curves right up to the moment they produce a margin call. Every position our robots open carries a hard stop-loss set at entry.
What stops a robot from running away with my account?
Three layers. Each robot enforces a per-position stop and a daily loss circuit-breaker. The portfolio layer caps total open risk. And you hold a kill switch in your dashboard that disables trading immediately and revokes our access.
Can you withdraw my money?
No. We receive trading permission only, never withdrawal rights. Your funds sit in your own account, in your own name, at your own broker, and we never see your client-area or payment credentials. Our setup engineer does use your trading password to install the robot on the server — that is what it is for — and every access to it is logged against a named staff account. A trading password cannot move money.
What happens if Aurum shuts down?
Your account is yours and remains fully functional. The robot stops trading, open positions are closed or handed to you, and you would continue with your broker as normal. We do not hold anything you would need to recover.
Performance and data
Why do my results differ from the published ones?
Broker spread, commission, swap rates, execution latency, account size and — most of all — your start date. Beginning a strategy the week before a drawdown produces a very different first year than beginning it the week after one. Divergence of a few percent a year is normal; a large persistent gap usually means broker execution and we will investigate it with you.
Are the published figures net of costs?
Yes. Spread, commission and swap are already deducted. We do not quote gross pips.
How often is my dashboard updated?
Trade events are pushed as they happen; equity and drawdown are recalculated continuously and the summary statistics roll up daily.
Can I export my data?
Yes, to CSV, from the trades page, at any time. It is your data.
Billing
When does billing start?
Only when you add a second robot. One robot — demo or live — is free forever, hosted on our VPS. The monthly fee covers the server capacity that additional robots need.
Do you take a share of my profits?
No, and we do not offer that as an option. We are paid two ways: a flat monthly fee once you run more than one robot, and compensation from our recommended broker on the volume your live account generates. Your profits are entirely yours.
Why is live trading free?
Because the broker pays us on your trading volume, which covers the hosting. You should know that arrangement exists — it means we have a commercial reason to prefer one broker. We have measured the execution on the one we recommend and we will say so plainly if another suits you better.
How do I cancel?
One click in the dashboard, no notice period, no retention call. The robot is disabled at the end of the billing period and opens no new positions.
Not covered here?
We answer every email from a person, not a template. If your question is about whether a strategy suits your situation, say a little about your account size and timeframe and we will give you a real answer — including “this is not for you” if that is the honest one.
